Diane has managed staff teams ranging from three to more than 75 people.
Diane has lectured and published in the field of association management, and has been active in the association community through the years. She has lived in the Atlanta area since 2004, and takes pleasure from the temperate weather, nearby mountains and lakes. In her personal time, she appreciates spending time with Robert, their families, and of course Amelia, their Border-Collie mix. She also enjoys cooking, reading, volunteering, boating, and traveling to explore new cultures, experiences and cuisines.
Brenda Bagwell has been with ISTM almost since its date of inception. She began her ISTM career in 1993 when hired as an administrative assistant. In 2005 she was promoted to the position of Administrative Director, where she is primarily responsible for all staff functions and activities in managing the activities of the organization. Over the years Brenda has worked extensively within every area of ISTM and has contributed to every project.
Prior to working with ISTM, Brenda worked in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Emory University in Atlanta, where she first met Dr. Phyllis Kozarsky, a founding member of ISTM. Dr. Kozarsky brought Brenda together with ISTM.
Brenda has lived in Georgia all of her life, never more than 20 miles from where she was raised. She attended the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta where she met her husband. She is thankful for the wonderful opportunities ISTM has offered her in travelling to so many parts of the world, meeting members at conferences, and making friends from many different cultures.
Brenda considers her greatest life accomplishment the raising of her three children, Anna, Hayley and Seth. Her passion is to make people laugh and her belief is that everyone needs some joy in each of their days.
