ISTM Publications and Educational Handouts
There are two main publications of the ISTM, each serving different purposes. The Journal of Travel Medicine is a peer-reviewed journal with up-to-date information on prevention and self-treatment of disease, immunizations, clinic management and patient and staff education. NewsShare is a lively newsletter full of timely information about ISTM activities and travel medicine news.
ISTM also offers a number of educational materials suitable for distribution to patients and travelers. These include the 7 Tips for the Responsible Traveler and the 10 Tips for Healthy Travel. The 7 Tips document is available in a number of languages.
The ISTM Expert Opinions in Travel Medicine is a series of educational vignettes, presenting a pre-or post travel quandary that is addressed by a leading clinician. These vignettes are often discussed in more detail within the ISTM List Serve, TravelMed.
