Travel Awards for CISTM Presenters
ISTM is pleased to present a limited number of travel awards to individuals working in the field of travel medicine who are in developing countries wishing to present research or a clinical abstract at the biennial meeting of ISTM. These awards were established to make it possible for those who otherwise would not have the funding to attend.
Awardees will be selected from among individuals who have submitted CISTM abstracts through the usual process by the normal CISTM deadline date. Applicants must also complete and submit the Travel Award Application by the deadline date indicated on the form. Selection of the awardees will be made by a group of five members of the ISTM Research and Awards Committee prior to each meeting. The travel awards will be based on the strength and relevance of the abstract and financial need. The award amount will be determined by the need for travel to attend the CISTM.

Award Details
- Awardees will receive a waived registration fee for the CISTM
- Awardees will receive a lump sum cash payment (in US Dollars) at the time of attendance
- Awardees may receive no other grant or subsidy from outside their own employer or institution
- Preference will be given to applicants from countries/areas other than Australia, Canada, Western Europe, Israel, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and the United States of America.
- Awards will be based on the strength and relevance of the abstract and financial need.
- The Executive Board of the ISTM has approved three (3) regional travel grants of USD 1,000 and four (4) international travel grants of USD 1,500 for the CISTM12 (paid in cash to awardees at the time of attendance).
- Travel grant applications must be received by 17 January 2011. Applicants will be notified of the status of their applications by 15 March 2011.
