Membership and Benefits
The ISTM, with more than 2,300 members in 75 countries, is the largest organization of professionals dedicated to the advancement of the specialty of travel medicine. Members include physicians, nurses and other health professionals from academia, government and the private sector. The ISTM invites all who are interested in travel medicine to share in the advancement of this field.

Types of Membership
- Doctoral Membership (MD, DSc, PhD, PharmD) and Non-Doctoral Membership (Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, PA, Pharmacist) include: voting privileges, ability to hold office, subscription to the Journal of Travel Medicine, listing in the Travel Clinic Directory, receipt of NewsShare, member rates for the biennial meeting, and special events.
- Limited Membership (Student/Trainee)* is available for full-time students in undergraduate or postgraduate training. Limited membership includes voting privileges, subscription to the Journal of Travel Medicine, receipt of NewsShare, member rates for the biennial meeting, and special events.
* Student/Trainee memberships are subject to ISTM approval, are limited to 1-year terms, and may be continued for no more than 5 years. Student/Trainee members must complete and submit a Training Certification with their membership or renewal application. Membership will not be active or renewed until the completed Certification form is received.
Membership Year and Dues
The ISTM membership year is January 1 through December 31. Dues paid at any time during the year will apply for that year only. New members will receive back issues of the Journal of Travel Medicine for the months prior to the date joined during that membership year.

Additional Travel Clinic Directory Listings
Doctoral and Non-Doctoral memberships include 1 free listing in the Travel Clinic Directory. Members wanting to list more than 1 clinic location must pay USD $50.00 per year for each additional listing. Payments for additional clinic listings must be for the same term as the membership (1 year or 2 years). Directory listings are not available to Limited (Student/Trainee) memberships.
