The Professional Education & Training Committee
Charter
- The Professional Education and Training Committee has responsibility for developing and making available opportunities for professional education and training in Travel Medicine
- The Professional Education and Training Committee is charged with identifying professional education and training opportunities for ISTM members (sponsored by the ISTM and others)
- The Professional Education and Training Committee is charged with proposing specific professional education and training programs to be developed and offered by the ISTM (to the extent possible these should be revenue positive programs for the ISTM)
- The Professional Education and Training Committee is charged with developing and proposing a long term strategy for the development of professional education and training programs by the ISTM

Committee Activities
The PEC committee works to develop and stimulate educational activities furthering scholarship in travel medicine.
Specifically the PEC is currently active helping to develop
- slide sets for the membership
- courses for the membership
- evidence-based guidelines for travel medicine
- a monograph on how to develop a travel medicine clinic (in development-contact Alan Spira who is chairing development (travelmed@earthlink.net)
- a website featuring Expert Opinions on Issues in Travel Medicine
