Travel Awards

The ISTM will offer a limited number of travel awards to individuals working in the field of travel medicine who are either young investigators or are from resource-poor or resource-limited countries and wish to present research or a clinical abstract at the CISTM15.

Susan L. Stokes Travel Award

The ISTM offers a limited number of travel awards to individuals from resource-poor countries (World Bank classification as Low or Low-Middle) working in the field of travel medicine who have an accepted abstract for presentation at the CISTM. The number and amount of the awards will be contingent on the availability of funds. Awardees may receive no other grant or subsidy from outside their own employer or institution. Candidate Requirements

  •  Awardees may receive no other grant or subsidy from outside their own employer or institution
  • Preference will be given to applicants from countries/areas other than Australia, Canada, Western Europe, Israel, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and the United States of America.
  • Awards will be based on the strength and relevance of the abstract and financial need.

ISTM Young Investigator Travel Award

The ISTM has created the Young Investigator Travel Award program to assist deserving young investigators with their travel to the CISTM15. Attendance at this conference will provide young scientists with the opportunity to participate in outstanding scientific programs, share new approaches and techniques, and interact with colleagues from around the world.  The number and amount of the awards will be contingent on the availability of funds. Awardees may receive no other grant or subsidy.  For  more information on the program, please consult  ISTM secretariat at ISTM@ISTM.org.

Candidate Requirements
  • Candidates must be age 30 or under. This award is not for established senior scientists or practitioners.
  • First author on an abstract accepted for presentation at CISTM15
