GeoSentinel
Network Members are requested to contact GeoSentinel for
any Alarming
Clinical Event. In addition to the listed specific diagnoses,
GeoSentinel is interested in hearing of anything that a
Network
Member thinks is unusual or worthy of comparing notes with the
experience of other Network Members.
Eligibility
Criteria:
Any traveler, immigrant, or refugee, who
has crossed international borders in the previous 1 year
and where in the
best clinical judgment of the GeoSentinel Network Member, the
current illness was acquired as a function of that travel.
How
to Contact GeoSentinel:
 |
Send
an informal e-mail with a very brief description
of the diagnosis and circumstances to a specified
e-mail address.
|
| |
OR |
 |
Fill
out an On-line form and
submit a very brief description of the diagnosis
and circumstances. Provide
as much information as is readily available and convenient. Submit
the form even if not totally complete.
|
The
e-mail may be as brief as "42 year old returned from
Mexico last week with encephalitis" but preferably
should contain at least age, countries of likely acquisition
of illness, pertinent
clinical and lab findings. Long pieces pasted from existing
patient records are acceptable as long as specific patient identifiers
are removed.
