Notes from the Editor

It is very encouraging news that the Journal of Travel Medicine is now to be indexed in Medline. This should greatly encourage members of ISTM and others to become more involved in scientific research and to submit their findings to our journal.

We congratulate those involved in the founding of the Asia-Pacific Society of Travel Medicine (please see Michel Rey’s note in “News from the Society”) and look forward to good interchange of ideas and information. There are quite a number of countries or regions now with their own local Travel Medicine Groups and it is to be hoped that all these “grass roots” societies will be able to relate closely to ISTM. Glaxo Wellcome have recently become diamond members of ISTM and we thank them for their support. The latest date for submissions to the November issue of NewsShare will be 31 October 1998.
