ISTM Toolkit: Trusted Resources for Travel-Health Education

As professionals in travel medicine, public health and migration health, we have a collective responsibility to ensure that all travelers — and the communities they move between — remain informed, protected and healthy. Education is central to the ISTM mission; one of our guiding principles is to educate medical professionals, policy makers and individuals about the risks and realities of global travel.

The traveler resources developed by the International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM) are designed to support that mission. More than patient handouts, they are practical tools that empower us to elevate standards of care, support advocacy and promote consistent, evidence-based travel-health guidance across providers, programs and institutions worldwide.

Global Clinic Directory
A worldwide network of ISTM-member travel clinics available for referrals, collaboration and continuity of care. It’s an essential tool for connecting patients to qualified travel-health providers wherever they are.

Professional Fact Sheets
Evidence-based educational materials covering core topics such as malaria prevention, travelers’ diarrhea, insect-bite avoidance, altitude illness and pre-travel advice. These are ready to use in clinic settings, public-health campaigns and pre-departure briefings.

Curated Global Health Links
Direct links to authoritative travel-health guidance from WHO, CDC, ECDC and TravelHealthPro — supporting accurate and timely decision-making.

By sharing and using these ISTM resources, our community can:

  • Provide consistent, quality travel-health guidance worldwide
  • Support informed clinical decision-making
  • Improve access to qualified travel care
  • Strengthen advocacy for travel medicine as a critical health discipline

ISTM is regularly updating and growing this resource library to reflect emerging travel trends and evolving global health needs. We encourage you to:

✔ Bookmark the page.
✔ Share it with colleagues and trainees.
✔ Use the materials in your own practice, programs and outreach.

Together, we can ensure that travel medicine remains proactive, prepared and recognized as essential to global health.
