CISTM18 App This year, the CISTM18 SPC is committed to having a green, paperless conference experience. With that in mind, we will be creating an app with a multitude of functions and will serve as a hub for CISTM18 attendees, speakers, and exhibitors. When the app becomes available, CISTM18 registrants will receive an email with instructions on downloading and accessing it. Please take a moment to create your account and set up your profile at that time. App details will also be posted on the ISTM website.
Wi-Fi Access Free Wi-Fi access will be provided to CISTM18 delegates.
CISTM18 Schedule and Activities Many exciting events are scheduled for the week of the Conference.

- Application materials for the CTH® Exam held 21 May 2023 will be accepted until 1 May 2023.
Accreditation CME accreditation is in the application process and more information including CME Credit hour totals and how to apply will be available on the ISTM website once confirmed.
Registration & Badge Pick-up The CISTM18 registration desk will open on Sunday, 21 May 2022, at 15.00 local time. Please visit the registration desk to pick up your conference badge and materials. The registration desk will also be available to any attendee who needs to register on-site. The registration hours will be posted on-site.
ISTM Foundation With your registration, ISTM encourages you to donate to the ISTM Foundation (ISTMF). Support for the Foundation provides funds for:
- Help to provide travel bursaries to young and resource-poor conference attendees;
- Support international surveillance of infectious disease through the joint ISTM-CDC project, GeoSentinel;
- Award annual research grants that stimulate groundbreaking travel medicine research projects;
Consider lending your support to these vital programs by making a donation to the ISTM Foundation.
CISTM18 Dress Code Please note that the conference encourages a business casual dress code. As it is impossible to have the rooms comfortable for everyone’s preferences, we ask that you plan your wardrobe for your personal comfort.
Travel to and within Basel, Switzerland. Basel is easily accessible by plane, train, or car. ISTM will soon publish “What to know before you go” tips with help from our Local Organizing Committee with insider tips on travel to the city, or how to get around town, and more.
Cancellation Policy: We are looking forward to seeing you at CISTM18. However, please remember that cancellation with a full refund is only available until 19 March 2023. After that date, refunds are not guaranteed and at the discretion of the Society and its Executive Board. Additionally, registrations are non-transferable. If you are unable to join us, your registration must be cancelled and refunded (if applicable), and the other attendee must register separately.
Guest Registration If you plan to bring a guest to the meeting, you may register them onsite at the registration desk for a nominal fee. Guest registrations include access to CISTM18 (i.e. Opening Ceremony and Reception) with exception to the tours and the Scientific Program.
Registration And Payment
Online Registration is now open for CISTM18! The following fees apply for the 18th Congress of the International Society of Travel Medicine. All registrations must be completed through ISTM’s Learning Management System. Sleeping rooms near the conference center have been secured and room reservation information can be accessed here.

Pre-Congress Courses
Pre-Congress Courses are not considered part of the Scientific Program. More details and information about the Pre-Congress Courses will be posted on the website soon.
Guest Registration – 75 USD
With a guest badge, attendees are able to access the Opening Ceremony, Networking Event, and Closing Ceremony only. Guest registrations do not include admittance to Scientific Program Sessions.
Conference badges cannot be shared and are not transferrable to another person; all badges must be worn prominently with name facing outward, and will be checked by Conference Staff upon entering any part of the CISTM18 event.
Associate Member Discounted Registration
To be eligible for the discounted CISTM18 registration, you must join the ISTM if you are not already a member.** A special discounted Associate Member fee of USD 75.00 is available for those residing in low- and low-middle income countries as identified by the World Bank. Simply follow the direction on this page, and once you have joined you will be offered the discounted CISTM18 registration rate indicated above for the conference.

Registration fees are payable only in U.S. Dollars and payment must be made by VISA, Master Card, or American Express through the electronic registration program. All credit card payments will be charged in U.S. Dollars. Currency conversions will be handled through the credit card company’s billing arrangement with the cardholder. If you are unable to use a credit card when submitting your registration, please contact the ISTM Secretariat at [email protected] to make alternate arrangements. ISTM members must log into their member account to receive the member discount on registration fees.
To request resonable accommodations for a disability please notify the ISTM Secretariat at [email protected], in writing, at least one month prior to the conference.
A nonrefundable processing charge of USD 75.00 is included in the registration fee. If for some reason you are unable to attend the conference and cancel before 1 May 2023, your fee will be refunded, less the USD 75.00 nonrefundable charge. No refunds will be given if the cancelation is received on or after 2 May 2023.
